COLOR - 30" x 30" Hand pieced and hand quilted. Made from cotton hand dyed and batik fabrics. I used to serve on the board of a statewide organization. The meetings of this fledgling group lasted an entire day. I don't sit very well for long periods of time- never have and hope to never have to. In preparation for one of those meetings, I decided that perhaps I wouldn't be so restless at the meeting if I was doing something with my hands, so I designed this quilt the night before a meeting. I quickly drafted a quarter circle, made the two pattern pieces and cut a variety of fabrics. During the meeting I worked on hand piecing the quarter circles. After the blocks were pieced, I decided to sew them into full circles and then my traveling project became the hand quilting. I was a much happier camper at the meetings. I don't know about you, but I actually Can listen better when my hands are busy. I wonder why?
